Dreamcatcher Farm
is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Clinton County in
Northwest Missouri
near Wallace State Park. The
farm consists of 40 acres of lush pasture, woodlands and creeks.
The old farm house was built in 1876 and the large old red barn
was probably built near 1900.
Our goal is to humanely
raise and care for our animals. We
are striving to develop a flock that produces
excellent hand-spinners fleeces as well as quality purebred Bluefaced
Leicester
breeding stock and succulent lamb for the table. (Picture to the

DreamCatcher Farm is
the home of co-owners Jennifer Fitzwater and Bridget Byrne. Bridget
and Jennifer met 10 years ago when getting
involved in the rescue and rehoming of Border collies thru Mo-Kan
Border Collie Rescue. They developed a life long
friendship
and after realizing they both wanted to move back to the country
but neither could really do it alone, they decided
to do it together!
Jennifer was raised
on a dairy farm in Northwestern Missouri, was a member and secretary
of her local FFA chapter and went on
to study equine at Parkville College. She is also the co-founder
of Mo-Kan
Border Collie Rescue and is an avid spinner, weaver,
felter and knitter. She also enjoys working and training her Border
collies to help manage the flock.
Bridget has farm roots
in Kansas and North Dakota. Her father was the organizer for
the Kansas Farmers Union in the 1950's. She has many fond memories
of visiting farms with her father and always wanted to live on
a farm. Her mother had a love of gardening which she passed on
to Bridget. So the combination of a love of the outdoors, working
with animals and gardening have now come together at DreamCatcher
Farm!
Today Jennifer lives
on the farm full time and Bridget has plans to build a house
of her own in a couple of years when she retires.
Until then she comes out to the “country home” on weekends
to tend to her horse, Gracie, and new foal, Breeze, as well as
her 7 Shetlands and Shetland Mules.
When deciding on a name
for the farm (every farm needs a name!) they decided on DreamCatcher
because it is a place where their
dreams of raising sheep, working dogs, having horses and land to
call their own, are coming true!
